Daniel has three women who find comfort, patience, and joy within his arms. What a sweet ride he provides to his girls upon his shoulders!
This week Nora bid farewell to her first preschool, shared basil with an old friend and simply seems so grown up in her "father costume" photo.
Soraya started crawling TODAY for her dad...what a special gift! I awoke from a nap to her scuttling across the rug. Such fun.
Summer is in full swing and us girls are winging it...no preschool...and long days to fill with adventures.
I'm on a Facebook and Instagram cleanse and after a few weeks, the twitch to fondle my phone constantly is dying down. I feel more in the moment and less about thinking of witty captions for photos or seeing who "likes" my fb posts. It had become a distraction and although my friends are all very busy and I feel a bit disconnected and lonely without social media as the baby naps and the toddler plays...I'm also more inspired now to read books and articles; write personal emails; make phone calls; and meet friends in person.
I also signed up for a challenge with "orange rhino" to not yell for 30 days. I've been working very hard to calm my temper and engage with Nora in a way that leads to easier transitions and fewer tantrums. It's very much an hour-by-hour process and leading to some very healthy new patterns for both of us. There have been a few slips of the harsh tongue but overall, cooler heads are prevailing.
So that's the scoop! Off to eat a scoop of cherry frozen yogurt with fresh berries. Mmm. Oh, I eat a lot more now that I'm cleansing from social media...an unexpected twist in the conundrum. But I still play outside at fit camp, too.
Gaining weight whilst seeking balance. Okay, I suppose.
Balance, I needed more...I'm actively searching for it. As a mother, a wife, and a friend.
